Digging out the litter box...any help out there?

From one of our adopters.  Any suggestions?

Hello all,

We've had December since August of 2007. She's totally sweet and has been a great bunny up until a few months ago.  She started kicking EVERYTHING out of her litter box.  I've changed litter, litter boxes, used covered litter boxes, tried varying the amount of hay and carefresh we put in the box - none of it helps.  Not only does she kick it out, but then she likes to spread it around on the floor - covering her entire pen.

I thought she might be bored so I've been giving them different toys, but she doesn't play with them.  She's totally obsessed with the litter box.  Even after she's kicked most of the stuff out, she will put her back feet on the edge of the box, dangling her butt over the edge, and try to kick everything else out.  I've attached a few pictures so you can get the general idea of what it's like to live with Ms. December.  In the pictures you will see a strange contraption that I made to try and prevent her from doing this, but as you can see I was unsuccessful.

Carol and I are at our whits ends.

*Sigh*  What do we do?  Does anyone have any suggestions or words of wisdom??

We are at a total loss... please help :-/
